SSCS SUIT

The SSCS suit is concept I designed and have been putting  together on my own time  over a period of 2 years now. The idea came to me while watching a show called Whale Wars and thought wouldnt be  cool too have a Exo suit what could jet through the water, and be able to Propell him or herself out and onto the deck of a ship.

SSCS    Sea Shepherd Conservation Society  is an organization I have supported ever since I saw he film Sharkwater in 2006 which included Paul Watson (founder of SSCS Since 1977) involvement durring Rob Stewarts (director of sharkwater) mission to inform the public, the atrocity of the Shark finn Indurstry .

The first thing I needed to do was take to the internet once again and research Water Jet Propulsion Systems,  and see  if anyone has attempted a self supporing suit with the idea I had in mind. I came across 2 other concepts. One that enabled propeller type attachments on the arms, The 2nd was a military Frogman suit with the same idea but attached to the legs.

In the end, I didnt find anything, nor have I since, but I did come across an interesting water craft that could make it a possibility to make the suit I had Imagined in my head possible, called the Cayago Magnum.

Besides the insanely priced $80,000 watercraft shown above, what I took from this Video and the companies website most of all, was powering not one, but four smaller water Jet turbines and utilizing the LI-ON battery technology of the 18650 cells that are used in Tesla cars and many other applications.  the newer Panasonic NCRb cells would be the backbone to such a project.

But here is the tricky part, a project like this is not a cheap endeavor, and the time alone  for something like this is full time 24-7, which I do not have the time or money  to fabricate the parts and experiment,  so I decided to just build the suit just for aesthetic reasons.

In the end I  just make something original that looks cool, Pluss, I can promote Sea Shepherd at the same time, which seems to be working so far, and when I go to an fundraiser event or end up In a parade or other venue, I hand out cards I designed and printed out, that Directs People to the SSCS website.

Maybe sometime in the future I can make a real working suit, but until then, this is my own original concept design,  one of the few works Ive done in a long time to be proud of. and still tinker with from time to time making improvements, as well as researching the possibliles of one day making this Suit a reailty. Untill then...
